Scott Jacka - GTO Manager
Scott is a Motor Mechanic by trade. He worked his way from Mechanic to Fixed Operations Manager and worked at a number of dealerships throughout his career. Scott has worked for the Group Training Organisation for over 10 years and has placed hundreds of school leavers into Automotive Apprenticeships.
Scott manages over 35 Pre Apprenticeship courses per year. Scott, with the assistance of Tim Hunt runs the GTO Account Management team.
Tim Hunt – GTO Team Leader
After growing up in his father’s panel shop, the motor trade was always in Tim's blood and was going to be part of his life going forward. Tim has always had a keen interest in cars and is a fan of Aussie and American muscle cars.
As a Spare Parts Interpreter by trade, Tim spent many years in large dealerships and manufacturers. He was also a manager for National Tyre Chains.
This is Tim's second stint with Apprenticeships Are Us as an Account Manager and he is looking forward to what the future holds, as the business continues to evolve and grow.
Outside of work, Tim is a keen sportsman, both watching and participating. He enjoys house renovating and maintenance, and is an amateur pastry cook.
Angelo DÁnella – Account Manager
Angelo has been actively involved in the Automotive Industry for the last 28 years. He is a qualified Motor Mechanic and Muscle car enthusiast. Angelo has completed a Certifcate IV in TAE and has taught Automotive Pre Apprenticeship courses. He loves the automotive industry as well as sharing his knowledge with the next generation of automotive industry professionals.
Angelo enjoys spending time with his wife and kids and his hobbies include fishing, fishing, fishing and more fishing. He also plays competive poker in community based social competitions.
Brent O’Connor– Account Manager
Brent started his apprenticeship in 2003 at a local workshop in Parramatta. From there, he gained his Certificate III in Light Vehicle. Brent has several years’ experience in the trade and over time, he has also attained a Certificate IV in Light Vehicle. Brent has also completed the Cert IV in TAE and taught Automotive Pre Apprenticeship courses. Nearing the end of his trade, he decided to take a gap year and do some travelling. Brent chose to live in Vancouver, Canada for 2 years, working and living in the main city.
It was here that Brent found time to enjoy his hobbies - snowboarding and mountain hiking. He returned to Australia to get married and start a family, now he has a plan to design and build his own house. Brent started with the company in 2015 and has really enjoyed getting to know the team.
Garry Ibbotson– Account Manager
Garry started off in the Motoring Industry back in 1971 as an apprentice motor mechanic. After completing his apprenticeship at a local Ford Dealership, he decided to gain experience working on European vehicles. Getting a position with an Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Lancia and Mazda franchise was Garry's new found challenge. Sometime around 1982 during his 10-year term with this company, Garry was led into the career path of Service Management, which he then spent the past 25 or so years working in. Garry has completed the Cert IV in TAE and has taught many Automotive Pre Apprenticeship courses.
In his personal time, Garry enjoys snow skiing, gardening, cooking and most of all, renovating his house.
Mark Johnson - Account Manager - Victoria
Mark Johnson started off his career as a Mechanic working at various workshops around Melbourne, before venturing out on his own and starting a Mobile Mechanic business that serviced all of Melbourne metro area for many years. After raising 5 boys of his own, Mark decided to use the skills he gained as a father to assist school leavers to obtain an apprenticeship in the automotive industry.
Mark is making inroads into the automotive sector by placing apprentices at a range of dealerships in Melbourne and is the exclusive recruiter of apprentices for Subaru Melbourne. Mark also recruits for the Paint and Panel industry and is the exclusive recruit for the Capital Smart repair group in Melbourne.
Mark enjoys all things sporty with his sons and the whole family love to spend the weekend dirt bike riding.
Rohan Bachu - Account Manager
Rohan has been in the industry for eleven years. His interest in cars and automotive came from following his dad around as a young boy in his own workshop while he was in primary school. Rohan became a mechanical apprentice in 2005 and completed his apprenticeship in 2009, while working for a Ford Dealership. He then moved to Iveco Truck and Toyota. Rohan left the industry for a small time and studied to become a personal trainer. He spent some time working at Vision Personal Training, before deciding to come back to the industry he loves. Rohan has also completed the Certificate III in Automotive Electrical.
Rohan enjoys health and fitness, which has become his lifestyle. He also enjoys Muay Thai and motorbike riding on the weekends.
